Today is the end of Day 5.
And two things have happened over the course of today and yesterday:
1. I am having mad urges to overeat. Weight Watchers teaches moderation and healthy portion sizes. I am fighting myself right now to follow that. And I am winning that fight, but it's still REALLY hard.
This last week, I bought a new pair of jeans-in the biggest size I have ever worn-a size that is embarrassing. THAT is my motivation every time I want to reach for more. I am motivated to go down a size, and then more, but am focusing on this first step down. I am so eager to fit comfortably in jeans a size down!
2. Water, oh water. I know that I know that I know how important it is to get that water in however I am seriously struggling to get that agua in my mouth. On Monday & Tuesday I managed to drink 8 oz. On Wednesday I got down 16 oz., and today it was 24 oz. I am getting there, it's just really slow. I have thrown out the 8 cups a day {because I believe we need much more than that} and my ultimate goal is half of my body weight in ounces every day. I will get there.
I am excited to reach Sunday and complete my first week on plan! I am even more anxious to weigh in! I have been sneak-weighing this week, so let's pray it stays good. :)
Thanks for taking this journey with me!

Am I doing something wrong here?
I ask that because this is way too easy.
I fought to do something about getting on track with my eating for some time. I wish I would have done this sooner. It is not difficult at all for me to track my food and stay within my points.
In fact, I am having a difficult time EATING all my points. I have filled my snacks and meals with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, including TONS of variety. Since most fruits and vegetables are 0 points on the Weight Watchers plan, I still have so many points to eat.
It is really important that I eat all my points to lose weight, so I am trying. I went to bed last night with 3 left and I had to push myself to use that much.
I mean, look at my breakfast:

A lot of cereal and a banana for only 7 points!
This type of meal will keep me full for several hours. I think I may just have to start eating a bit fattier snacks, like peanut butter with my apples or adding nuts as an afternoon snack.
I guess there are worse problems, right?

the first step feels soooo good.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. - Confucius
Here is my first step. I joined Weight Watchers on Saturday and began my first day on the plan yesterday.
My Thoughts on Day Two:
-The eating and tracking parts of this new lifestyle are much easier than I anticipated.
-I am disgusted at just.how.much. food I was putting in my body.
-I am not ready to talk about what the number on the scale reads, but I will share that with you down the road.
-I am taking this week to focus just on eating within my points and keeping track of every piece of food or drink I put in my mouth. Next week I will tackle exercise.
I am so excited to begin this journey!! Hot Mama Nicole-here I come!
